About

What do you really need to know about me?

I’m just a guy making music. As a kid I never dreamed about becoming a music producer or rapper. I got into music by accident, because I wanted to help out a friend. He could rap but didn’t have a producer, so I offered to learn how to make music so that he could put some songs together and get out there. I learned how to make music, but he never got out there. Eventually I found myself in pretty much same the position I found him, except I had music instead of vocals. Eventually I started writing and recording on my own productions. That was years ago now…

How long has it been?

Its been long enough. I’ve been making music for over a decade now, but it’s still nothing more than a hobby. I share my music with whoever wants to hear it but I don’t expect it to make me a millionaire. On the occasions in the past when I’ve decided to go after the music for profit it seemed to suck the joy out of doing it, so I don’t bother. I’d rather be happy and enjoy what I’m doing than feel like I’m selling my Soul, hoping for redemption tomorrow. What if tomorrow never comes?

Influences

If I listed all my influences here this page would be ridiculously long, so I’m not gonna. Even if I wanted to, I couldn’t because there are too many to remember. I’ll summarise: pop/rock/soul/r&b from the 80′s, Jungle (Dett, Brockie, Stevie Hyper D (R.I.P.) etc.), 90′s Hip Hop (Onyx, Gravediggaz, Das EFX), jazz, classical, 70′s funk/rock… Yea, the list goes on, but you get the gist.

Anything else?

I have a day job, working as a software programmer. I don’t enjoy it as much as I enjoy making music, but I do enjoy it. I also write a blog called The Urban Alchemist. It isn’t a music blog, it’s a general one. I started a music blog once but soon realised there are far more interesting and useful things to talk about than music and the music industry. The content varies quite considerably so take a look. Maybe you’ll find something of interest there.

Wrap up

All the words you hear in my songs are my own. I don’t have any ghost writers or anything like that. All the tracks you’ll hear from me have also been produced by me, with one exception: London Souls. What I’m saying is that when you’re listening to one of my tracks, you are literally listening to me, from the music to the lyrics. So, when a track starts playing, let it play.
